Carver Park Area East Drainage
CR-297A between Washington Street and Booker Street
The Carver Park neighborhood has long dealt with flooding, but your penny went to work to help alleviate flooding for Cantonment residents. The Carver Park Area East Drainage Project, completed in November 2019, was the first phase of a larger, multi-phase effort to assess existing drainage conditions and build lasting solutions for stormwater management in the area. Phase one directed stormwater runoff to an outfall pond east of Ransom Street, reducing flooding for residents in this part of the neighborhood. Improvements included:
A comprehensive assessment of existing drainage conditions in and around the Carver Park area
Design and construction of stormwater solutions to direct runoff to an outfall pond
Groundwork for future phases of drainage improvement as land acquisition efforts are finalized
Additional drainage improvements are planned for the broader Carver Park area as land acquisition efforts are finalized as part of a continued commitment to a neighborhood that has waited too long for relief.
